◆ A Letter of Invitation
Dear X5 Charity Foundation workers and Dr. Tzu-Hung Lin,
We are fifth and sixth grade students from Kang Chiao. On behalf of our school, we will be participating in the international CyberFair competition, and our project theme this year is “protect and unite.”
After our teacher introduced us to you and your foundation, we started to search for information about the X5 Charity Foundation. We were really inspired by your ideas, so we want to promote your work to the whole world by introducing your foundation in the CyberFair project, to help more people.
From your foundation’s website, we learned that you help parents whose babies are diagnosed with rare diseases. You accompany the parents through the most anxious moments, and provide professional consultations and information, so they don’t make the wrong choice, and lives won't be terminated due to parents being misinformed by unreliable information from the Internet. In the meantime, you also help cure babies with rare diseases by providing necessary medical treatment. In addition, we also learned that your foundation has special programs that help schools in remote areas, so underprivileged children can pursue their dreams.
All of the members in our Cyber club admire the work you and your foundation are doing to give back to the community. You spend a lot of your time and money helping people in need, including women, children, and teenagers, so that by feeling the warm-hearted, caring gestures, they can have hope for the future to pursue their dreams.
Moreover, we still have a lot of questions about the X5 Charity Foundation. For example, we are very curious about the foundation's name and logo. What do the five Xs on the logo stand for? Why is the foundation's name “X5”? We are also very curious about how exactly you help parents that have children with rare diseases? Also, on the foundation’s website, you mentioned that your foundation holds a Dreams-Come-True Program. We want to know how you raise the funds, and how you use it on the programs. Lastly, we want to ask Dr. Tzu-Hung Lin, aside from the things you couldn’t do as a doctor, are there other reasons that made you want to establish this foundation? When did you establish this foundation? Did the foundation make up for the shortcomings you had while you were a doctor?
Finally, we want to thank you and all the foundation’s social workers. Thank you for helping us with our project, and answering our questions patiently.
