"Bridge Over Troubled Water”
◆ Reflection on the documentary “Bridge Over Troubled Water”
Bridge Over Troubled Water is a documentary about Typhoon Morakot, the deadliest typhoon to impact Taiwan in recorded history. On 8th August 2009, the flood caused by Typhoon Morakot destroyed Jiaxian, a town in Kaohsiung County. The documentary recorded how the children of Jiaxian Elementary School later fought to bring their honor back via tug-of-war games. Like those children in the documentary, the people that X5 Charity Foundation are supporting also often lack basic commodities, and need our attention and care.

◆ Reflection on the article “The Power of Blue Ribbon”
The Power of Blue Ribbon is a descriptive article featured in a sixth grade reading. It talks about a woman named Helice, who turned a thank you card into a blue ribbon, and with that ribbon she taught people how to show appreciation, respect, and love. By passing on a blue ribbon, more heart-warming stories have gone on since then. No one ever thought that a blue ribbon could bring back friendship, or even save marriages. Like Dr. Tzu-Hung Lin believes that we all need help sometimes, and we should always reach out to those in need.
