I learned a lot from the interview with Dr. Tzu-Hung Lin. I learned about the charity works that the foundation does, and how to write out a transcript. I am very thankful for Dr. Lin’s time spent with us, and I like him very much. Dr. Lin is tall, humorous, and patient. The whole interview felt like a chit-chat, and we also took a lot of notes. His foundation is called X5 (pronounced as “cheng-wu” in Chinese) Charity Foundation, named this way because the doctor thinks he looks like Jin Cheng-Wu, a Japanese-Taiwanese actor and singer. X5 Charity Foundation has done many kinds of charity work, like working with hospitals and donating money for medical equipment. They also help children who are underprivileged to give them a better life.
I will use the notes to finish our project webpage, and I hope we really succeed in finishing it. I am very grateful to Dr. Tzu-Hung Lin for helping us. I also want to thank the class teachers for helping us complete our goals. I hope I won’t disappoint our teachers’ expectations, and I hope that our project webpage can be finished successfully. Thank you Dr. Lin, and the cyber club teachers.

Meeting with Dr. Lin let me know more about his charity, and it also made me realize that there are many children with rare diseases who need help. Although Dr. Lin doesn't make a lot of money, he still spends his earnings on the foundation to help these children. Since we were scheduled to meet at lunch, we didn't have much time to eat, but I think it was worth it. Before the meeting, I was very nervous, but as the conversation went on, I became more relaxed. Dr. Lin was friendly and humorous. He not only answered all kinds of questions from us, but also joked with everyone, which made the atmosphere of the interview casual and fun. After this meeting, I knew more about Dr. Lin’s motivation in founding the charity, and I think he is a great person with a big heart. As a doctor, he heals people, but aside from his profession, he also tries his best to help others and contribute to society, which makes me feel very impressed. We are going to visit the charity soon, and everyone is really excited. I believe we will learn even more there!

During the interview, Dr. Lin always answered our questions with a smile. He told us that he named the foundation “X5”, (which in Chinese is pronounced “cheng-wu”) because he thinks that he looks like Jin Cheng-Wu, a Japanese-Taiwanese actor and singer. This interview let me know more about how the foundation helps children with rare diseases. It also let me understand why Dr. Tzu-Hung Lin wanted to establish a charity foundation. From the interview, I now know that Dr. Tzu-Hung Lin is very humorous and likes to make jokes. Dr. Lin told us that sometimes pregnant women will be constantly worrying about everything, and how he usually tells them jokes to lighten up their mood, and try to let them think in a positive way. Dr. Lin has actively involved himself with helping people in need. I’m happy that I could interview Dr. Tzu-Hung Lin, and I look forward to the second interview with the doctor again!

Out of misunderstanding or ignorance, we sometimes judge or pity people that are “different” from us. After this interview, I began to realize the difficulties these people face every day, and was able to empathize with them. Being an obstetrician, Dr. Lin also has to make sure everything at his foundation runs well. In the meantime, in order to help ease pregnant women’s worries, he tells funny jokes to them to make them feel not so stressed; that is his style. When infants or children are diagnosed with rare diseases, he tries his best to cure them, and he explains the problem that these children might face in a positive way. He also reaches out to the children that live in rural areas. Up to today, he has already helped a lot of children from Yilan, Hualien, and Taitung counties, so they can push through adversity and grow up happily.

When I was researching information about Dr. Tzu-Hung, I didn’t have a strong impression of him. Before the interview, I was so nervous because I was worried that I might forget what I was going to say, or say something wrong, but I was still excited to see Dr. Lin. During the interview, I found Dr. Lin to be very gentle and funny. When it was my turn to ask questions, I was so embarrassed, but Dr. Lin answered my questions patiently. I listened very attentively. The doctor would also make jokes while answering, to make us happy, but of course he would answer the questions very seriously as well. By the end, each of us had gained a lot of understanding, and the interview ended very happily. Even though the doctor is very rich, he spent the money on creating a foundation, instead of buying a huge house or a sports car. This makes me admire him. Ordinary people will only spend their money all the time, but he does not.

In front of the big TV screen at the library, I saw Dr. Tzu-Hung, Lin greeting us with a smile. Dr. Lin said that he founded X5 Charity Foundation, dedicated to helping young children, teenagers and women. After this interview, I now have a deeper understanding of Dr. Lin. After this interview, I also found that not only established his own foundation, Dr. Lin also assists other foundations that specialize in helping children with rare diseases, donating money, food, toys and other items, so that those children will not feel left out. After listening to what Dr. Tzu-Hung Lin said, I was moved by his selfless spirit of helping others. He made me want to also care about these children who are born with diseases, and want to care about those people in society, and give a little to the society. I want to work harder to make the world a better place.

I think Dr. Lin Tzu-Hung is a humorous person. When we were having an interview with him, he told some jokes to make us feel more comfortable. After the interview, I felt very moved that we have such charity in our society, helping kids with rare diseases and women who need assistance. Dr. Lin is very selfless. He is a gynecologist, probably very busy, but he still spent his time, money, and his effort to found this charity in 2020. We appreciate Dr. Lin for using his own time to answer our questions, and letting us know more about his charity.
My impression of this interview is that Dr. Lin is very humble and patient, because while he did so many good things, he wasn’t saying that “he is very good.” He explained how he wants to help more people in the future. Dr. Lin also said something unforgettable to me, “Action speaks louder than words,” which means if you want to do something, you need to take the first step. It is very hard at the beginning, but it will be easier after. I admire Dr.Lin's patience. When we were having an interview with Dr. Lin, some of our questions were similar, but he still answered every one, not saying or complaining that he already answered this question. Dr. Lin Tzu-Hung let me learn that there are many people who need help in the world. If everyone can give a helping hand by sharing money or effort in your ability range, then our society will become warmer and peaceful.

Throughout this interview, I learned that this world has different kinds of people that need help, or that are in poverty. I am also very happy to learn that there is a charity such as this; with everyone’s assistance, we can reach more people. In the interview, I learned that this charity doesn’t help just one kind of person, but many kinds. Thinking of other kinds of people will make a better charity. The charity’s developments will equip us with 21st century skills: we can see the charity’s website, and we can create our own to enter a competition to let others learn about this kind of charity. Throughout this interview, we learned about creating and running a charity. It is not just about money, but also your patience and your courage, which makes me think that creating a charity is not easy at all. So for this point, I admire Dr. Lin Tzu-Hung and his group. We can apply this kind of thinking to our daily life.

As the saying goes, “Seeing is believing,” so in addition to checking the information about the X5 Foundation online, we also invited Dr. Tzu-Hung Lin and his assistants to an online interview with the Kang Chiao Cyber Club. This was my first time having an interview with Dr. Tzu-Hung Lin, and for sure I was a little uneasy. In fact, this was my first interview in front of people. The thought of saying the wrong words really scared me during the whole interview. As a sixth-grade student, there is nothing more embarrassing than making a mistake when fifth graders are watching. It was supposed to be a simple interview, but I was so frightened that I didn’t know how to deal with the stress, and there were times I wasn’t sure what I had to say. I didn’t really calm down until the end of this interview.
I feel I’ve benefited a lot from this interview: I learned how to properly conduct an interview, and also learned more about Dr. Tzu-Hung Lin and social workers. During the interview, Dr. Tzu-Hung Lin gave the impression of a funny and patient person. He even mentioned that he looked like Takeshi Kaneshiro, but only five times the size of Takeshi Kaneshiro, and that really made everyone laugh. I admire Dr. Tzu-Hung Lin because he is always helping people, and it is difficult to find someone who acts so selflessly. He believes in the Chinese saying "love is not possession, love is appreciation." He also believes in narrowing the gap between the rich and poor. In a way, he successfully brings children with rare diseases and ordinary people together. More people know about those unique kids because of Dr. Tzu-Hung Lin’s efforts. I also admire the social workers of the X5 Foundation for helping Dr. Lin, and doing many good things anonymously. In this interview, I also learned that smiling and being polite are both important. Dr. Lin dressed up very formally, and spoke in a lively manner. He is positive and hardworking, and he is definitely a very good role model.

At the beginning of the interview with Dr. Lin Sihong, I was so nervous that I could feel my heart pounding. Is he a scary doctor? Will his temper be good? How will he greet us? All of these questions were hovering in my brain, but they were answered in my heart when I saw him. He looked like a gentle, humorous person. He had a slender, fat body, thick eyebrows, and thin eyes. I was scheduled to interview him second, so I plucked up my courage and asked him questions attentively. However, he wasn’t curt because of the tight time, instead, he answered my questions very seriously and listened carefully. Every word he said before the interview gave me a big slap, but it also gave me more courage and filled me with confidence. After this interview, I now understand more about Dr.Lin’s efforts in running the foundation, and where their money comes from. I learned from Dr. Lin Sihong that “there are no free meals in the world.” The money they raise is all that they have. They use up every bit of sweat in countless hard work. If you don’t work hard, you will have nothing. Dr. Lin's foundation told us to light up a lamp to illuminate others, and to illuminate ourselves."
