Before the Trip to Climb Snow Mountain
By: Audrey Kao, Rupert Wei, Austin Hung, Kuan Liu
In May, Grade 6 students will embark on a journey to Snow Mountain, where they will receive their
graduation certificates at the summit—a cherished KCIS tradition. To prepare for the climb, they have
completed six training sessions at Mount Erge, which features terrain similar to Snow Mountain.
During the last training session, students hiked 9 to 10 kilometers from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., navigating steep
hills and large rocks. Throughout the training, mountaineering instructors taught essential climbing skills,
including the use of gear and survival techniques. As Coordinator Tsai always says, “Safety is the most
important thing in mountain climbing.” Following this principle, students carefully stick to safety guidelines at
every step.
We hope all Grade 6 students have a safe and enjoyable climb, successfully reach the summit, receive
their graduation certificates, and return home safely.
Memories Beyond Campus: G6’s Graduation Trip
By: Yoyo Yang, Mia Lee, Alice Ho, Louisa Lin
For Grade 6 students, the graduation trip is always one of the most exciting moments of the year. This year, the journey took place
on February 12th, leading students to Tainan, a city rich in history and culture.
“It wasn’t just a typical trip only meant for fun! We learned a lot about Taiwan’s culture,”
shared a student from Class 606. Throughout their visit, students immersed themselves in
Tainan’s history, exploring sites like Wushulin Sugar Factory, Tainan History Museum, and
the Confucius Temple. They even rode a vehicle once used to transport sugarcane, which
helped them understand the industry’s significance in Tainan’s past.
Beyond the historical discoveries, the trip was filled with fun activities, from group
games to exploring local markets and enjoying delicious street food. This unforgettable
experience not only deepened their understanding of Taiwan’s heritage but also marked a
meaningful end to their elementary school years.
