My favorite family tradition is to visit Tainan during
Chinese New Year with my mom, dad, and my elder brother.
I like it very much because I can visit my family there
and spend time with them. I can also set off
fireworks and have a walk in the backyard
to relax. Most importantly, I can pray for my
family at the temple and get red envelopes.
My favorite part is to set off fireworks
because we can’t set off fireworks in Taipei, but
we can do it in Tainan. It’s very beautiful. One
time, we bought a firework that looks like a top.
When we set it on fire, it spun very fast and
then flew into the air and turned into beautiful
fireworks!
Why I like to visit Tainan is because I
have a lot of family members that live there,
and I like them very much. Another reason
is because there’s a lot of things I can do in
Tainan that I can’t do in Taipei. I like quiet
places. I think it keeps me calm.

My family tradition is traveling to Australia
every summer vacation. I do this tradition with
my mom, my dad, my sister and my cousins.
During this trip we feed giraffes at the Zoo, we
take pictures with koalas and we also watch
the crocodile show. It is exciting and fun. One
time, when the crocodile splashed water, my
sister was super wet. I laughed at her. I think it
is fun!
Trip Planning Steps:
First, we look at some flights we can take.
Second, we look for hotel to stay in.
Third, we ask if the hotel has space for us.
Fourth, we pack our stuff like snacks and
clothes.
Fifth, we call a taxi to see if they can take us
to the airport.

Every time when my Dad buys a new
Lego set, he and I will build the new set by
following the instruction book. We will build
it at home on the dining table. We love
to play Lego because we find it very fun
spending time together.
Here is how we build the Lego set.
First, open the box. Second, remove the
numbered bags and instruction book.
Then, follow the instructions carefully.
My favorite part of the tradition is that
my dad spends time with me, playing and
building Lego sets. My favorite Lego set
is Mario driving a race car. It is very cool
and fun! I think it is a special tradition
that others will enjoy because Lego is
awesome! Enjoy my tradition!

My family tradition is to take a family photo every year.
This is my favorite family tradition because when I grow up
and think about it, I will have some good memories. I go
to different countries with my mom, dad, and
my sister to take a family photo. We sometimes
go to play, too. We normally do this at winter or
summer break.
One time, I went to London and I took a photo
with Big Ben. I rode on a boat to London Tower
Bridge and we took some pictures there too.
My favorite part of this tradition is going to
different countries to see different interesting
buildings, so I can take pictures.
How to Take a Family Photo Steps:
First, pack your bags and head to the airport.
Next, ride the airplane and wait until you arrive.
Then, taxi to a hotel and see cool places to
take a family photo.
Last, print an album and head home.
Reading Books Before Bed

My family tradition is reading books every night. This is a
special time with my mom, because it lets us enjoy reading
books in my room from 9:00pm~10:00pm. I also listen and

called Holes because it’s exciting and you have to
read the next page to find out what happens next.
I didn’t want to stop. My favorite part of the story
was one hundred and ten years ago, when Green
Lake was the largest lake in Texas.
How to Read before Bed:
1. Get the book.
2. Go to the bedroom and sit in the bed.
3. Open the book.
4. Listen to your mom read.
5. Ask questions about the story.
6. Finish some pages every night and go to sleep.

My family tradition is watching movies. I watch movies with
my parents and my sister. We always start watching them at
home every Sunday at 6:30 pm. When my sister is scared she
hides behind my mom. I watch movies because on Monday, I
need to go to school, so I want to relax and enjoy
time with my family first.
I choose to write about this because I like to
watch funny movies. Did you know my favorite
part is eating treats, and did you know my mom
lets us choose treats by ourselves? One time, I
choose Sour Gummies because I like sour treats.
They are so chewy. It’s first sour then it turns
sweet. It’s yummy! I like to try different treats.
Preparing For a Movie:
1. On Saturday we choose a movie.
2. On Sunday at 4:00 pm we buy a treat.
3. On 6:30 pm we start to watch the movie.
4. At 7:30 pm we take a break.
5. At 7:40 pm we continue the movie.
