Challenges and Competition
The Interclass Competition is held by the International Department in March every year. The main goal is to create a spirit of sporting competition and nourish our students' interest in learning English. The competition encourages the development of confidence and promotes cooperation between students. Congratulations to all the winners of the 2018 Interclass Competition.
Our grade four students just finished their Our School Community project. Through interviews with teachers and staff, students realized how everyone in our school community plays an important role that contributes to create a safe and positive learning environment for them to learn and grow. I hope you enjoy their writing about how the jobs of different people benefit our school community.

Teaching Coordinator, International Department
This year’s finals of the Interclass Competition for grades 1-6 was held from the 12th of March to the 16th of March 2018. The competition was organized by the International Department to promote collaboration, creativity and most importantly build confidence.
Grade 1 and 2 Song Competition
We provide students with the opportunity to discover and develop their unique talents and this time it was through a singing contest. Students had the opportunity to select a song and collaborate with their peers to prepare an exciting audition.
Grade 3 and 4 Dramatic Reading Competition
With a well-balanced literacy curriculum, we value the importance of reading. For the grade 3 and 4 reading competition, students had a minute and a half to read from one of their favorite stories in Reading Street. Students were required to use lots of expression with their voice and body to make the text interesting and engaging.
Grade 5 and 6 Presentation Competition
We prepare our students with the most effective skills to eloquently communicate their knowledge to the world! The grade 5 students had to give clear instructions on how to do a specific task. The six graders persuaded the audience to visit their favorite travel destinations.
During the first few weeks of school students worked hard for the first round of competition that took place within the classrooms. One group from each class advanced to the finals to compete for a place in the top 3. All students and teachers gathered in the concert hall to root for classmates and observe the best 15 groups within their grade level. Overall the competitions were a great success! We would like to thank all the contestants for their hard work and effort to deliver the best possible performance on stage. This was a wonderful opportunity for students to develop confidence and build up their self-esteem. Let’s take a look at the 2018 winners.
