Kang Chiao has always placed considerable emphasis on the importance of presentation skills and public speaking. Every year, the International Department hosts our Interclass Competitions and the results are always exceptional. At the end of last semester after our final examinations, each class hosted an in-class competition and selected a winning group to advance to the final. Each grade level assembled in the concert hall to enjoy the top groups from each class battle it out on stage to be crowned the champions. For the top 15 groups from each grade who stepped into the spotlight, it was a momentous occasion and a day to be remembered. They put on a remarkable performance and the confidence on stage was truly inspiring. It was a hard task for the judges to declare the final results and we are so proud of each contestant who stepped out of their comfort zone and took on the challenge.

Blossom with Confidence

The Intercalss Competition was held at the end of fall semester. It aimed to encourage the development of confidence in communication and presentation and to promote collaboration among students. We were impressed to see such great talent participate in this competition. I would like to congratulate to all the winners and participants. Thank you all for giving us such great presentations.
Children who live in the city rarely have opportunities to get close to nature. Our students are lucky to easily access our own Nature Study Area to observe plants and animals closely. In the project A Walk in Nature, our second graders were tasked to create an informative sign about a chosen local plant. From Ms. Pennell's article, you can understand how children explored the natural environment and used iPads to research the plants.
沿著青山校舍往下走，經過跑道區和菜圃，走入一片小森林，青山環繞，一片綠意，這就是我們的田園區，這裡種植300多種的植物，也是很多動物的棲息地，螢飛蝶舞、蛙唱鳥鳴，豐富的自然資源，是學生觀察動植物的最佳學習環境，田園區也提供英文專題課程最真實的學習情境。此次，二年級的外師以「製作易懂的英文植物解說牌」來挑戰二年級的孩子，他們先到田園區物色感興趣的植物，觀察並拍照做紀錄，接著研究相關植物的訊息，最後，繪製圖文並茂的解說牌。如果您有機會到田園區走走，這些充滿童趣的手繪解說牌可以增進您對植物的認識。
感謝家長們熱烈參與3月4日的班親會，良好的親師溝通是孩子們學習的最佳助力，不克前來的家長請留意公告於電子聯絡簿平台的國際處學期提醒事項。疫情趨緩，日常活動皆已逐步恢復正常，期待這學期所有的校園活動也都能順利進行，提供孩子們多元又充實的學習生活。
