Strong teacher and parent communication builds a sturdy foundation to support student success. To ensure ongoing and convenient communication between our teachers and parents, the International Department launched our E-Communication book last October. The platform allows teachers and parents to stay connected while keeping all communication and announcements in one place, which sure does make everyone’s life a lot easier and the digital transformation is more environmentally friendly.
Living in a digital world, all of our parents are smartphone users, allowing for easy communication with teachers as they can access everything right from their pockets. We’ve noticed an increase in parents actively discussing daily lessons, curriculum aspects, and their child’s performance with teachers. Teachers also found it easier to reply to parent messages, update parents on their child’s achievements, or share personal stories about students’ learning. In addition to using our E-Communication book, our CETs also created official Line groups, so they can message a single parent privately or announce something to the whole class of parents. We believe our digital and convenient two-way communication will help teachers and parents stay connected.
In the past, students had to copy down homework assignments into their paper communication books in class and teachers had to collect books in order to leave notes or reply to parent’s messages within a limited time. Since we started using the E-Communication, teachers assign homework for the entire week on a Monday morning. Parents and students can check the E-communication book after five o’clock on Monday and even print out the week’s agenda if necessary. This allows for more productivity in the classroom, as students and teachers can get started straight away with their lessons. Teachers can now reply to messages in their preparation time and ensure notes and announcements don’t go missing.
The E-Communication book enables parents to keep track of each child’s learning progress, easily reach out to teachers, access important announcements, assessments notifications, and information about school events. The International Department periodically releases interesting curriculum highlights explaining what projects students are exploring in Language Arts class, prototypes they are building and testing in KCFS class, and lessons students are experiencing in English Village. It keeps parents in the know and bridges the gap between home and school with everything you need right there at your fingertips!
Log into the E-Communication and join the official Line groups to play an important part in your child’s education journey!
Our parents have become more and more familiar with using the e-communication book to stay connected with English teachers easily and actively. In their article, our assistant director and teaching coordinator explained more functions of the e-communication book. Browsing through the announcements and newsletters posted by the International Department will give parents clearer pictures about what students learn and how they learn.
In the spirit of Christmas, I would like to extend my thanks to all parents for your continued support for our school. I wish you all peace, joy, and happiness during this holiday season and throughout the New Year.
